naga-valli. [Skt.] n. The vine that produces the betel leaf or tamala-paku. nagavalli or more correctly written nakabali, i.e., devatalakuceyupuja. The finishing ceremony of a marriage (where in a betel leaf is given) which is performed on the fourth day. Betel nut is presented to a parting guest and thus has come to denote taking leave, or dismissal, as well as the opposite sense of admission or installation. nagavasani or nagappasani nagapa-sani. n.
